About

K-Drama Origins is a guide for international viewers who have just finished a Korean drama or film on Netflix and want to know what the original story says.

Many of the most popular Korean series are adapted from webtoons and web novels. The Korean originals are often finished years before the drama airs, and news about renewals, casting and production usually appears in Korean first. That information rarely reaches English-speaking fans in a clear, accurate form. This site exists to close that gap.

What we cover

  • Webtoon endings – how the original story ends, clearly marked with spoiler warnings.
  • Drama vs. webtoon – what the adaptation changed, cut or added.
  • Season 2 news – renewal status based on official announcements and Korean press reports.
  • Characters and cast – who is who, and how the characters relate to each other.
  • Where to watch and read – official streaming and reading platforms only.

How we work

K-Drama Origins is run from Seoul, South Korea. We read Korean-language sources directly: the original webtoons and web novels, official announcements from broadcasters and studios, and Korean entertainment news. Every plot detail and every piece of news is checked against those sources before publication, and each article lists where its information comes from.

We use AI tools to help with drafting and translation. Facts are verified against the Korean sources above, and if something cannot be confirmed, we say so rather than guess.

We only link to official platforms. We never link to unofficial or pirated copies of webtoons or dramas.
